Here’s Barber Motorsports and the Bass Pro shops nearby.

Why are people using Strava to record their lap times when there are better apps designed for this ? Harry’s Lap Timer is an excellent option.

Yeah, that’s what I use, too. I guess for anyone who’s a runner or bicyclist, it’s an app they’ve already got, easy to use, and good enough to get a close-ish time for their laps.

I took a look at my local track. It looks like one dude on a bicycle managed to sneak onto the track for a couple of laps. Maybe he did it a couple of times.
The map is getting kinja’d....

The 3.1 is pretty fun, who are you going with?
I wouldn’t mind running it again, maybe I should sign up.

It’s our Caffeine & Gasoline group from Tulsa. It’s Monday 3/26 (The Driver’s Edge will be there the weekend prior). I’m pretty sure they’re open to others joining if you’re interested. Shooting for 30-40 total (three groups).

It might be cars, but a lot of tracks also hold both bicycle and running races, so it’s possible what you’re really seeing is probably a bunch of people all wanting to know how fast their legs carried them.

It was also interesting to find all the not-entirely-legal off-road trails in the area.

I bet! Very interesting stuff (and creepy, if you’re worried about personal privacy). I pretty much give no apps my location info, other than Google Maps (and I’m sure I’m trusting Google way more than I should...).

Google is 100% being creepy with your data. That said, i figured if I “deny access” all that is really doing is not letting me see it. They’re absolutely still looking at it.

Sounds like that’s true for Android users.
Apple has more on me... Some solace that they’re a hardware company and not an advertising-driven business?

That is some comfort, yeah, though I think they were one of the first to get caught constantly monitoring people’s location. (Loooooong time ago, before that just became background noise in our orgy or privacy violations...)

It’s hard to put Pandora back in the box, but I’m hoping that this country will eventually get serious about personal privacy. Wishful thinking, I know... It seems like only countries with a dark history like Germany really have strong laws in place to protect privacy.

Nah. It’s two or three traces, total.
